Goodbye, August?!  Hello, September?!

Um, what?!  Where did August go?

I have pretty much zero idea; it was as though I blinked and it was gone!

So this all boils down to me having a few iPhone photos and not many exciting stories.  In August I definitely enjoyed sunsets on my new deck.  Never. Gets. Old.

See my little baby plants there?  We got two more basil plants to add to the collection.  Because BASIL IS AMAZING!  I can’t tell you how happy my basil plants make me – if that’s wrong I don’t wanna be right.

While my cucumber plant is barely holding on, and not producing any cucumbers, my jalapeno plant is just starting to get buds!  I was beginning to get very worried about it, too.  We got three roma tomatoes, which were eaten too quickly to photograph.  FRESH tomatoes from your OWN garden?  I’m hooked.

I’ve been waiting for SO many months to get a new lens to expand my photography, and it finally happened!  I can’t believe it took me this long to break out of my kit lens, but I did it!  And I took that leap with the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Lens.  I’m in love with it so far and can’t wait to experiment with new kinds of shots.

Have y’all discovered the new gallon container of Talenti Gelato?!  It’s aaaamazing!  I mean, it’s the same silky, creamy gelato, just SO MUCH more of it.

And the empty container makes a legit cookie jar.  With some of my new favorite cookies from one of my favorite “fellow” MN food bloggers (yes, I’m technically in NC, but I mean, once a Minnesotan, always a Minnesotan, right?!).

Of course the last weekend in August needed to be spent enjoying wine at a French bistro and ice cream on the riverfront.

Has anyone out there had ice cream at Kilwins before?  Or their HOMEMADE FUDGE?!  Whaaaat?  Heaven. On. Earth.

Just like that, August is a wrap!
