Sugar Coated Cranberries

A holiday garnish that’s easy to make and will impress your guests!



  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 ounces fresh cranberries


  1. Bring water and 1/4 cup sugar to a boil, stir until sugar is dissolved. Mix in cranberries and coat with simple syrup. Remove with a slotted spoon or mesh sieve and lay in a single layer on a cooling rack. Let dry for 30 minutes to an hour (they will remain sticky).
  2. In multiple batches, roll cranberries in remaining sugar to coat. Return to drying rack until ready to place in bowl or use immediately as a garnish.
