15-MINUTE VEGETARIAN GYROS

In just 15 minutes sliced portobello mushrooms saute in herbs and spices to create the most flavorful,  mouthwatering vegetarian gyro meat. Serve in a pita with tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and tzatziki for an irresistible gyro sandwich!

INGREDIENTS

- Portobello Mushrooms - Butter (or olive oil) - Garlic Powder - Onion Powder - Dried Oregano - Dried Marjoram - Dried Thyme - Red Pepper Flakes - Salt & Pepper - Pita Bread - Tomato, Onion,             Cucumber - Tzatziki Sauce

Wipe mushrooms clean and thinly slice into approximately 1/4 inch pieces.

Add mushrooms to a dry skillet and cook until they've released all of their liquid. Stir in spices and herbs.

While mushrooms are cooking, prep the veggies and super easy tzatziki sauce.

Once mushrooms are done, place them on top of a piece of pita bread.

Layer on thinly sliced cucumber (if using).

Layer on sliced tomatoes (if using).

Add onions and garnish with feta and tzatziki sauce as desired.
