INGREDIENTS

- Butter - Vegetable Oil - Granulated Sugar - Powdered Sugar - Egg - All-Purpose Flour - Baking Soda - Cream of Tartar - Salt - Cocoa Powder - Vanilla Extract

1

Cream together room temperature butter and sugars until light and fluffy.

2

Add the vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until completely combined.

3

Add the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

4

Let the dough chill for 30 minutes in the fridge.

5

Dollop cookie dough on a baking sheet, then press gently down with a sugar-dipped glass.

6

Bake cookies until edges are set, approximately 8 minutes. Don't overbake!

7

Let sit on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.

8

If desired, make a batch of chocolate buttercream frosting to top the cookies.
