Homemade Butternut Squash Ravioli with Brown Butter Poppy Seed Sauce

FORK IN THE KITCHEN

Warm flavors with a silky, creamy texture! No time for fresh pasta dough? Make the rich brown butter poppy seed sauce for store-bought ravioli, too – it’s rich with a wonderfully unique texture thanks to those little poppy seeds.

This was soooo good!!!! ...loved the poppy seed add…when I was in Italy last fall one of the restaurants I ate at had poppy seeds in the ravioli sauce which was so unique. Happy to be able to recreate it with this recipe. Thanks so much for sharing! -Laura

1

Prepare homemade pasta dough and allow it to rest for 30 minutes.

2

Meanwhile, roast the butternut squash and garlic cloves.

3

Once roasted, combine the veggies with rosemary, parmesan cheese, and spices.

4

Roll out a thin rectangle of pasta dough.

5

Place the filling on one side of the pasta sheet, then roll it over and cut out each ravioli.

6

Boil ravioli for 2-4 minutes until floating, then toss in the sauce.

7

Prepare sauce by browning butter, then add sage leaves and poppy seeds. Toss with cooked ravioli.

8

Then dig in and enjoy!

Make it for a date night dinner or just to cozy up!
