Homemade Chocolate Syrup

Making homemade chocolate syrup is so easy to do with just 5 ingredients and 5 minutes. It’s a rich, decadent chocolate syrup that’s even better than store-bought – made without corn syrup or dairy. Add it to homemade lattes, drizzle over ice cream, and so much more!

5 Simple Ingredients:

- Water - Granulated Sugar - Cocoa Powder - Vanilla Extract - Kosher Salt

Syrup vs. Sauce

Syrup: made with water and no additional fat. Thinner in consistency - perfect for drinks!

Sauce: thick, and made with cream, butter, or milk. Like hot fudge.

Whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, and water until combined.

1

Slowly simmer for about 3 minutes until slightly thickened.

2

Don't bring to a rolling boil - it has a chance of tasting burnt or bitter.

Whisk frequently!

Stir in vanilla extract and salt.

3

Transfer to a glass jar or bottle. Cool completely and chill in the fridge.

The texture and taste are best after it has chilled.

There are so many ways to enjoy homemade chocolate syrup!
